Replacement English 2 and 3 – Proposed Course Outlines for 2017

The English Learning Area Group met and have approved course outlines for the proposed English 2 and 3 replacement courses for 2017.

Replacement English 2 and 3 proposed course outlines 2017

The course outlines align to Senior Secondary Australian Curriculum: English Unit 1-4 learning outcomes and content descriptions.

The English 2 course has TWO (2) Sections:

  • Section A consists of 2 Modules from Senior Secondary Australian Curriculum English: Unit 1
  • This section of the course focuses on Communication of Meaning
  • Section B consists of 2 Modules from Senior Secondary Australian Curriculum English: Unit 2
  • This section of the course focuses on Representation.

The English 3 course has TWO (2) Sections:

  • Section A consists of 2 Modules from Senior Secondary Australian Curriculum English: Unit 3
  • This section of the course focuses on Comparison of Text.
  • Section B consists of 2 Modules from Senior Secondary Australian Curriculum English: Unit 4
  • This section of the course focuses on Perspectives.

Prescribed texts are not identified in the English 3 outline as it is proposed that these will be determined through teacher recommendation and by the English Learning Area Group and the relevant TASC CME.

The number of texts and text types have yet to be identified for English 2.
