Expression of Interest English Text Selection Panel

Dear English teachers,

Curriculum Services is seeking Expressions of Interest from suitably qualified panel members to review and determine the Prescribed Text lists for both English Level 3 and English Literature Level 3 for 2020.

Interested participants must:

  • have read and understood the TASC Text Selection Procedure available here.
  • agree to adhere to the processes outlined in the procedure
  • agree to abide by the confidentiality requirements surrounding the text selection process (outlined below)
  • be able to attend the meetings as outlined below

Each panel will comprise three members, one from each sector: Government, Independent and Catholic, inclusive of the relevant TASC Marking Coordinators.

English Literature Level 3

In addition to the TASC Marking Coordinator, we require nominees for the following:

  • one from a Department of Education school/college sector
  • one from the Catholic sector

The meetings for English Literature will be held on:

  • Tuesday, 2 April from 9.00 am through to 3.00 pm
  • Wednesday, 22 May from 9.00 am through to 3.00 pm

At:  Curriculum Services, Level 1, 199 Collins Street, Hobart

  • Relief will be available to panel members to enable attendance at these two meetings, a light lunch will also be provided.
  • Please note any accommodation or travel costs cannot be covered.
  • Please be aware that the dates are set and there is no ability to change.

English Level 3:

In addition to the TASC Marking Coordinator, we require nominees for the following:

  • one from the Independent sector
  • one from the Catholic sector

The meetings for English will be held on:

  • Wednesday, 3 April from 9.00 am through to 3.00 pm
  • Thursday, 23 May from 9.00 am through to 3.00pm

At:  Curriculum Services, Level 1, 199 Collins Street, Hobart

  • Relief will be available to panel members to enable attendance at these two meetings, a light lunch will also be provided.
  • Please note any accommodation or travel costs cannot be covered.
  • Please be aware that the dates are set and there is no ability to change.

Confidentiality:

Once the panel has been formed – all discussion by panel members regarding the text selection is to remain confidential and cannot to be shared with anyone outside of the panel. Note this includes not permitting discussion with colleagues either at your school or from another school during the process, and until such time as the Text list has been approved and published by TASC on their website.

Closing Date for Expression of Interest:

The expressions of interest period opens on 7 March and will close at 5.00 pm on 15 March 2019.

Successful nominees will be notified shortly there after.
